1990: Civil unrest intensifies worldwide.
In response to the seemingly indifferent or incompetent governments, corporations
begin to take matters into their own hands. Beginning with third world
holdings, corporations arm their security personnel with the finest military
equipment available. Professional mercenaries are hired on both short and
long-term contracts. These new paramilitary assets are transferred to anywhere
that civil violence threatens corporate holdings.

1991: In Hessen, Germany, a coalition
consisting of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and the Green Party gain
control of the state Landtag. They begin to try and curb unfair business
dealings and control environmental destruction.

1992: In the U.S.A., Jeffery Lynch is
elected President of the United States. In his inaugural address, he refers
to his landslide victory "as a mandate to cure the ills of the nation and
bring a new vitality to America." Seeing how easily the voters accept Lynch,
Congress quickly falls into step behind his programs.

1992: In South London, England, U.K.,
a major riot breaks out.

1992: In Australia, Boggo Road jail
is closed for barbaric and substandard conditions.

1993: In the U.S.A., the Handicappers
of America (HA) begins its campaign to protest the abundance of handicapped
parking spaces.

1993: In the U.S.A., the first of the
Supreme Court justices appointed during the Burger court leaves office.

1993: In Washington, D.C., U.S.A. Jeffrey
Lynch is inaugurated President of the United States.

1994: In Germany, a record heatwave
sends temperatures up to 86 to 104 degrees F.

1994: In Hessen, Germany, Speeds on
the autobahn are restricted to 90 km per hour. Additionally, new environmental
laws strongly discourage the purchase and use of air conditioners. Businesses
are extremely displeased over this new legislation. This also furthers
a growing rift between the pro-environmental northern Hessians and the
pro-business southern Hessians.

1994: In the U.S.A., Chief Justice Burger
of the U.S. Supreme Court retires for health reasons. He is succeeded by
Terence Ordell, an outspoken conservative law professor from the East Coast.

1996: In the U.S.A., President Lynch
is re-elected.

1996: In Germany, the Die Grunen political
party, a group known for being a leading ecological power in Germany, is
dissolved.

1996: In Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A., the
Summer Olympics are showcased.

1996: In Quebec, Canada, separatist
advocates are finally elected into government positions.

1996: In Canada, The Mohawk Indian tribe
begins to kill off the criminal element in its tribal government in order
to properly pursue their land claims.

1996: In the U.S.A., President Lynch
begins a massive program of deregulation. Beginning with the sale of the
U.S. Postal service to various private messenger services, Lynch approves
the sales of the U.S. Weather Service, Forest Service, Amtrak, and a half-dozen
other public services.

1997: In Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.,
the KSAF television station goes on the air.

1997: In the Washington D.C., U.S.A.,
President Lynch is again inaugurated President of the United States.

1997: Control of Hong Kong reverts to
the People's Republic of China.

1997: In Ireland, U.K., the government
once again initiates policies of internment without trial anyone associated
with the IRA or other "terrorist" groups. Tir nan n'Og)

1997: In the U.S.A., the Shiawase corporation
opens a new metallurgical engineering plant. The plant draws huge amounts
of power from the regional utility grid. The government-run grid raises
its rates for high-load commercial customers, increasing Shiawase's energy
costs by more than 550 percent. in less than six months.

1998: In Berlin, Germany, the Daimler
Benz corporation covers the Potsdamer Platz with a 250-meter skyscraper
with three administrative wings.

1998: In the U.S.A., a group calling
itself the Turnflashers begins a campaign to advocate the use of turn signals
on cars by shooting vehicles that don't use them with paint pellets.

1998: In South London, England, U.K.,
rioting breaks out.

1998: In the U.S.A., police stop writing
speeding citations except during "reckless conditions."

1998: By this year, in the U.S.A., the
defense establishment has been cut by almost 40%, with even bigger cuts
in procurement and R&D for new weapons systems.

1998: In the U.S.A., the Shiawase corporation
approaches the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and demands the right to set
up a nuclear plant. This would make the Shiawase corporation independent
of the regional utility grid, saving it untold millions. The Nuclear Regulatory
Commission refuses Shiawase's request. As a result, Shiawase takes the
case to the Supreme Court.

1998: By this year, in the U.S.A., three
members of the Supreme Court appointed during the Burger court have either
died or retired.

1998: In New York City, New York, U.S.A.,
the Teamsters' New York Local initiates strikes that last into the next
year. The Teamsters fail to realize that the state of New York does not
have the money to meet their salary demands.

1998: In the U.S.A., the import of all
firearms is banned.

1998: The Perfluoro-4-methyl-octahydroquinalidine
(P4MO) artificial blood replacement is created.

1999: In Canada, the armed forces offer
safe-conduct to all non-combatant Mohawks. The offer is ignored.

1999: In Germany, the independent towns
of Gladbeck, Bottrop and Kirchhellen are merged to form the city of Glabotki.

1999: In Canada, the Dene Indian tribe
is violently forced off its tribal land to make room for natural gas pipelines.

1999: On October 3, in Canada, at local
dawn, a perfect time-on-target salvo of Cataphract wire-guided missiles
hit the Kahnawake fortification. Mechanized army, an armored platoon, and
several air cav units move in. The fighting is over by noon and the Sovereign
Mohawk Nation is wiped out.

1999: In Canada, after a four-week standoff
with the Mohawks, the Canadian infantry attacks the reservation. Canadian
casualties are very high. Although the Mohawk position is weakened after
two assaults, they still hold one well-fortified position in Kahnawake.

1999: In Canada, the Mohawk Indian Tribe
declare land in dispute between them and the Canadian government to be
Mohawk territory. They support this claim by blockading roads into their
reservation around Oka, Kahnawake, and Kanesatake in Quebec. They declare
themselves the Sovereign Mohawk Nation.

1999: In the U.S.A., in a landmark 193-page
decision (The United States vs. Seretech Corporation (1999)), the Supreme
Court upholds Seretech's right to maintain an armed force to protect its
own personnel and property. Furthermore, the Supreme Court commends the
corporation for protecting innocent citizens and honoring its duty to dispose
of the infectious materials safely.

1999: In New York City, New York, U.S.A.,
in an attempt to end the assembling of corporate armies, the city, followed
by the state and federal governments sues Seretech Medical Research for
criminal negligence. Seretech maintains that in defending their truck,
they prevented its potentially lethal cargo from infecting the population
at large.

1999: In New York City, New York, U.S.A.,
during the riot, a Seretech Medical Research truck hauling medical wastes,
some of which is infectious, is attacked by a mob. The mob believes that,
since the truck is refrigerated, it must be a food transport. The mob tries
to overturn the truck and get its contents. In what becomes a running gunfight,
Seretech security comes to the aid of the corporate truckers, withdrawing
them to one of the firm's medical research facilities. The enraged crowd
storms the building and Seretech security fights back. By dawn, 20 Seretech
employees and 200 rioters are dead.

1999: In New York City, New York, U.S.A.,
in response to the strike, which halts the flow of fresh foods, A massive
riot erupts in New York City. Hundreds are killed and thousands are wounded
in the ensuing violence hundreds are killed and thousands are wounded.

1999: In New York City, New York, U.S.A.,
the Teamsters' leadership, realizing that the city of New York cannot meet
their demands, urges the rank-and file members to accept the state's final
contract offer. The truckers reject the contract and the strikes continue.

1999: In Europe, a concentrated effort
is made to create a united European currency. This establishes the European
Currency Unit (ecu, or EC) as legal tender in European nations.

2000: In the U.S.A., the Supreme Court
rules the case of The Nuclear Regulatory Commission v. Shiawase Corporation
in favor of Shiawase and allows them to build their own nuclear power plant.

2000: On January 2, in Australia, a
referendum is held concerning turning the country into a republic and changing
the flag. Both movements fail.
-
2000: In Texas, U.S.A., the Texas Rangers
begin to evolve from a law enforcement group into a more military organization.

2000: In the U.S.A., Martin Hunt is
elected President of the United States.
-
2000: In the U.S.A. the Nuclear Regulatory
Commission sues Shiawase for criminal negligence and reckless endangerment,
charging that Shiawase's inadequate security had failed to prevent the
terrorists from penetrating the plant's outer perimeter. Shiawase counters
with evidence that not only could plant security have taken a force three
times the size of the terrorist group, but that the only reason that they
got as far as they did was due to security force restrictions enforced
by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

2000: In the U.S.A., within weeks of
its opening, the Shiawase reactor is attacked by a special assault team
sent by the radical eco-terrorist group TerraFirst!. Armed with military
weapons, the group penetrates the plant's security perimeter and clashes
with Shiawase security forces. The Shiawase security team kills every member
of the TerraFirst! team. They discover that the terrorists carry enough
explosives to crack open the containment building and reactor vessel spreading
nuclear material throughout the surrounding area.

2000: In the U.S.A., the Shiawase corporation
builds its reactor and brings it on line. They immediately declare themselves
independent of the regional utility grid.

Demon. This car is the fastest production car built in the year 2000.

2000: In San Francisco, California,
U.S.A., renovation begins on the Foran Bridge.

2000: On January 1, Quebec declares
itself independent from the rest of Canada.

2000: In Panama, the rights and responsibilities
of the Panama Canal Zone are given solely to Panama.

2000: In the U.S.A., the Supreme Court
upholds several important government challenges to corporate autonomy.

2001: In Washington, D.C., U.S.A., Martin
Hunt is inaugurated as President of the United States.

2001: In the U.S.A., due to the precedent
set by The United States vs. Seretech Corporation (1999), the second Shiawase
Decision (The Nuclear Regulatory Commission vs. The Shiawase Corporation)
rules in favor of the Shiawase corporation. It also firmly establishes
the extraterritoriality of multinational corporations in international
law by giving them the same rights and privileges as foreign governments.

2001: In the U.S.A., NASA launches a
manned mission to Mars. Upon its return some of the data recovered by the
astronauts is labeled top secret by the government causing speculation
of its contents.

2001: In the U.S.A., the government
starts a movement to confiscate all handguns currently owned by any citizens
not employed as police or security agents. Resistance against this movement
is high.

2001: In the U.S.A., P4MO is deemed
safe for use by the FDA.

2001: In Mexico, the governors of Chiapas,
Campeche, and Quintana Roo are assassinated within a span of two weeks.
The governor of the Distrito Federal barely escapes death when his car
explodes outside his office. Two of the three assassins are later captured.
They are later revealed to be acting on their own.

2001: A few weeks after the initial
German ecological evacuations, the Baltic Sea becomes so poisoned with
caustic chemical sludge that the surrounding communities can no longer
survive. Soon after, the North Sea suffers the same collapse, affecting
the seaboard regions of Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands.

2001: In Mexico, the government reduces
the influence of the Catholic Church.

2001: In Oroville, California, U.S.A.,
the Oroville Buddhist temple, once a popular tourist attraction, is shut
down due to lack of funds.

2001: In the U.S.A., Turnflashers upgrade
their campaign by using live ammunition to shoot out the signals of cars
that don't use them.

2001: In Saint Louis, Missouri, U.S.A.,
Due to the enormous amount of trash, the Saint Louis police enact the Citizen
Trash Patrol (CTP). Members of the patrol can phone in reports of littering,
and the police will issue the offender a ticket without question.

2001: In Canada, the Athabascan Tar
Sands oil extraction project is abandoned as no longer economically feasible.

2001: In Germany, Long forgotten landfills
from the former East Germany begin to leak poison into the groundwater.
This forces the government to evacuate and seal off large portions of the
eastern Lander.

2002: In the U.S.A., angry and frustrated
over the seizure of their land, more radical members of the Native American
population found the Sovereign American Indian Movement(SAIM) whose roots
trace back to the Indian-rights struggles of the twentieth century.

2002: In the U.S.A., the beginning of
what the media dubs "the Resource Rush." corporate coalitions demand and
are granted access to oil, mineral, and land resources on U.S. federal
lands. The U.S. government invokes eminent domain again and again to claim
property, only to license its exploitation to a corporate sponsor. The
majority of lands taken in this fashion are Indian reservations and federal
parklands. Conservationists and Indian-rights groups express their shock
and disgust, though corporate influence and paramilitary power make it
dangerous to object.

to build an optical chip that is proof against electromagnetic pulse effects.

2002: In Germany, the ecology-minded
Bundnis 2000 political party achieves landmark victories in response to
the recent ecological damage.

2002: In Australia, Japanese corporations
begin pulling out of the Australian tourism industry, increasing animosity
of Australians against Asians.

2002: In St. Paul, Minnesota, U.S.A.,
Mitsuhama Computer Technologies opens its corporate office.

2002: In Minnesota, U.S.A., Governor
Rudd opens discussion with Native American tribal leaders of major reservations
to prevent exploitation of the resources of Minnesota.

2002: In the U.S.A., prison populations
have jumped to 700,000 inmates.

2002: In Mexico, the government initiates
a bloody clampdown on the Chiapas rebels. Over two dozen rebel leaders
are captured or killed in escape attempts.

2003: In Germany, on November 19, the
worst flash flood in recorded history strikes the North Sea regions of
the country. Huge portions of Hamburg as well as eastern and western Frisia
are bathed in oily sewage. In response the government shuts down the nuclear
power plants along the Lower Elbe River in time to prevent a worse disaster.
Even so, thousands die in the flood and then from chemical poisoning in
the following weeks.

2003: The Anglo-Japanese suborbital
Ghost is unveiled. This new plane is capable of flying from London Heathrow
International Airport to Boston in 76 minutes, and London to Tokyo in a
few hours.

2003: In Washington, D.C., U.S.A., the
United States Congress ousts the city government of Washington D.C. amid
charges of widespread corruption and incompetence.

2003: The North American panther is
declared extinct.

2003: In Denver, Colorado, U.S.A., the
Stouffer Concourse Hotel burns to the ground. It is later rebuilt.

2004: Libya unleashes a chemical-weapons
attack against Israel. Israel responds with a nuclear attack that destroys
half of Libya's cities.

2004: In south London, England, U.K.,
major riots break out.

2004: In the U.S.A., Philip Bester is
elected President of the United States.

2004: In the U.K., the first nuclear
meltdown at Dungeness in Kent creates a local irradiated zone. The meltdown
kills over 6,000 people including a third of a group of 800 attending a
gaming convention.

2004: In St Louis, Missouri, U.S.A.,
the CTP is repealed. Despite this act the CTP continue their own method
of enforcement: Namely pouring trash on the lawns or in the cars of known
infractors.

2004: In Hessen, Germany, responding
to the barely averted meltdown of the Biblis nuclear plant, the SPD/Green
coalition government initiates severe environmental laws. The measures
force many plants to close, including the Merck processing plant in Darmstadt
and the BP refinery in Gustavsburg. The plant managers as well as other
employers respond angrily.

2004: In Mexico, Partido Revolucionario
Institucional (Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) president Miguel
Avila is revealed as taking bribes from the U.S. government.

2004: In Lubbock, Texas, U.S.A., the
South Plains Police Academy is built.

2004: In Tasmania, the Conservationist
party is elected into power. This party's main platform is the protection
of the environment, regardless of the consequences. Their main targets
are corporations who respond by withdrawing from Tasmania.

2004: In Germany, responding to the
close calls of the flood, the government shuts down all remaining German
nuclear power plants. Despite the long-term benefits of this move there
is one accident. At Biblis, near Mannheim in southern Germany, engineers
working too quickly release small amounts of radioactive gas into the atmosphere.

2005: In South London, England, U.K.,
new riots flare up.

2005: By this year, in Japan, the largest
coffin hotel boasts 350 cubicles.

2005: In the U.K., the rebuilding of
Corfe Castle begins.

major renovation begins on the "T" line.

Whole Earth Inc. makes its first appearance.

a reputation for bringing massive success to his company.

2005: In Minnesota, U.S.A., the Treaty
of Bemdji is signed. This treaty between the state of Minnesota and leading
Ojibwa tribal leaders prevents the exploitation of resources on Ojibwa
land.

2005: In Boston Massachusetts, U.S.A.,
the city, previously facing a crippling recession, starts to experience
an economic boom due to the relocation of the East Coast Stock Exchange.

2005: At 7:20 A.M. on August 12, In
New York City, New York, U.S.A., the city is struck with a major earthquake
that goes 5.8 on the Richter Scale. This results in over 200,000 deaths
and 20 million dollars worth of damage. The only Manhattan building of
any size that does not collapse is the Empire State Building. As a result
of the quake the East Coast Stock Exchange is moved to Boston and the United
Nations is moved to Geneva.

2005: In Germany, the Border Wars cause
massive migration of refugees away from the fighting. This along with the
turmoil within the Russian Republic and the migration from the contaminated
North Sea causes massive economic and social turmoil. The cities of the
south are unable to handle the massive population explosion.

2005: In the U.S.A., Philip Bester is
inaugurated as President of the United States.

2005: In Eastern Europe, political and
social tensions erupt in May. The Border Wars, extended skirmishes between
Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and the Baltic states, last for 6 months and claim
15,000 lives.

2005: In Tasmania, BHP opens a new Uranium
mine in the Kakadu National Park after convincing the government that there
are large profits to be made from the mine and, therefore, larger taxes.

2005: In the U.S.A., the Public Broadcasting
System is disbanded and privatized.

2005: In Mexico, the Revolucionario
Institucional (Institutional Revolutionary) political party is brought
down in a rash of scandals.

2005: In the Russian Republic, the Border
Wars cause internal isolationist turmoil. This brings calls for secession
from the other members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS),
from Siberia, and from other semi-autonomous areas of Russia.

2005: In the U.K., the Conservative
Government establishes regional parliaments in Scotland and Wales.

2006: In Germany, the general elections
give a slim majority to a coalition of candidates from the leftist social
democrat SPD and the USPD (Independent German Socialist Party), Bundnis
2000, and a few communists. within months however, this government finds
itself at odds with Germany's megacorporations.

2006: In Japan, the government asserts
its position as a world power by announcing the creation of the new Japanese
Imperial State and deploying the first of a fleet of solar-powered collection
satellites to beam microwave energy to receptors on the Earth's surface.
With this relatively cheap method of distributing power to isolated regions,
Japan begins to make strong inroads into the Third World.

2006: In the U.S.A., the government,
realizing that high-tech weapons production and exportation is one major
portion of the U.S. economy that the country cannot do without any more,
loosens the import/export restrictions on firearms.

2006: In Germany, the government, in
an attempt to control its voter base, passes legislation giving migrants
the right to vote in local as well as general elections.

2006: Texas Instruments successfully
sues Miroyama Electric for gross violation of patents. Although TI has
to take the lawsuit through all levels of the Japanese legal system before
finally forcing the appeal to its highest levels. In a surprise decision,
it is ruled that Miroyama is guilty of the charges. The management of the
company is ordered to turn over its assets to TI. This they do, then commit
seppuku.

2006: In British Columbia, the BC Ferries
Corporation retires all of its old ships.

2006: In London, England, U.K., local
tong leader Zhing Wo is displaced due to infighting.

2006: The first High Speed Civil Transport
(HSCT), a plane design based on the Concord, is flown.

2007: In Germany, the elections of the
Berlin leaves that city in control of cronies of the Daimier-Benz corporation.

2007: In Germany, the cities of Langen
and Dreieich merge to form Langen-Dreiech

2007: In Mexico, Medellin drug cartel
chief Juan Ortega coordinates cartel resources into legitimate business
investments. He, David cartel chief Julio Ramos, and Masaya cartel chief
Diego Oriz, buy out a major Villahermosa, Mexico development corporation
and rename it ORO Corporation.

2007: In Germany, the Mueller-Schluter
Infotech corporation is formed.

2007: In Germany, the disbanded Die
Grunen party is re-established, although never to its former position.

2007: In the U.S.A., the Supreme Court
declines to review the decision of Congress to remove the Washington D.C.
city government.

2007: In the U.S.A., the last of the
Nazi groups are disbanded.

2008: In the U.S.A., the implementation
of an ultra-fast digital packing algorithm allows high definition television
to finally work on existing U.S. channel bandwidths.

2008: In Panama, major molybdenum deposits
are discovered several kilometers off the coast in Golfo de los Mosquitos.
The ORO Corporation has already obtained the mineral rights to this area
indicating they had prior knowledge of the find. It also raises their status
to that of a major corporate power.

2008: On May 1, in Germany, the administrative
governments of Frankfurt am Main, Offenbach, Hanau, Darmstadt, the Bergstrase,
Gros-Gerau, Main-Taunus, and Wiesbaden secede from the state of Hessen
to create the new state of Rheinhessen. The city of Wiesbaden proceeds
to evict the Hessen state government and the officials are run out of the
city by armed mobs. The new state then seizes Border Guard and Bundeswehr
armories with militia that have been training in the abandoned American
karsernes in Russelsheim, Munster, and Offenbach.

2008: The Nestle corporation falls apart.

2008: In Mexico, ORO Corporation convinces
the nations of Columbia, Panama, Nicaragua, and Honduras to rescind all
laws involving the illegality of pirating software for sale from another
company. The ORO Corporation makes millions in the business of reselling
computer software at cheap prices.

2008: In Texas, U.S.A., a law is passed
creating urban militia units, which allow residents of an area to sign
up for limited combat training and obtain military weaponry with minor
restrictions. New laws also define the right of residents to contract private
security firms to provide armed protection for their communities and homes.

2008: In Minnesota, U.S.A., four months
after Texas authorizes urban militia units, Minnesota follows their example
and passes the "Firearm Education Law."

2008: In the U.S.A., Proto-Feudalism
is first recognized.
-
2008: In Germany, the coalition government
collapses when the USPD breaks from it and the SPD replaces them with members
of the Christian Democratic Union. This makes the decaying social situation
in Germany worse. In an attempt to control the growing violence, the government
begins to rely heavily on the Federal Border Guards as well as Lander,
or individual state, police forces.

2008: A meteor impacts with the Mir
space platform (recently sold by the Russians to the Harris-3M corporation)
killing two of the crew outright. The rest die later when Harris-3M fails
to launch a rescue mission. The orbit of the station begins to decay.

2008: On November 25 Harris-3M, determining
that the Mir platform cannot be saved, place a Fuel-Air Explosive (FAE)
on board and destroys it.

2008: In Berlin, Germany, the Olympic
stadium is constructed.

2008: In the U.S.A., Jesse Garrety is
elected President of the United States.

2009: In the U.S.A., Jesse Garrety is
inaugurated as President of the United States.

2009: In the U.K., Charles III is crowned
King of Great Britain in Westminster Abbey.

2009: On March 4, in Lorraine, France,
the nuclear plant at Cattenom suffers terminal meltdown and the plant leaks
highly explosive gas which detonates Block 2 of the plant. This releases
a cloud of radioactive gas which blow into provinces of both France and
Germany. German and French authorities manage to evacuate the entire Saarland,
the province of Lorraine, and the nation of Luxembourg. The meltdown costs
37,241 lives. The Saarland and the nearby district of Trier are declared
disaster areas. Refugees flood the Rhineland-Palatinate and northern Baden-Wurttemberg.

2009: In Germany, Bavaria and Baden-Wurttemberg,
threatened with more refugees from the Cattenom nuclear disaster, threaten
to secede from Germany.

2009: In Mexico, business leaders band
together to fight repressive government business laws.

2009: On April 29, in Germany, the Federal
government vests all political power into a military council headed by
General Horst Stockter. This council dissolves all parliaments and Lander
governments and establishes martial law. The population hardly resists
at all. In Bavaria the council confiscates weapons and the Bavarians surrender
on May 4 giving General Stocketer complete control of Germany.

Oil Industries announces that it has acquired the right to exploit the
petrochemical resources in one-quarter of the remaining federal parks and
one-tenth of the remaining Indian reservations, which the government has
just confiscated.

2009: In Montana, U.S.A., in immediate
response to the United Oil Industries announcement a small band of SAIM
members, including some one-time members of the USMC Scalpel special forces
team, enters the U.S. Air Force's Shiloh Launch Facility in northwest Montana.
It is unknown how the group bypasses the security systems in the facility.
Once inside the silo, the group meets up with USAF Major John Redbourne,
a full-blood Dakota Sioux. Redbourne knocks his partner unconscious and
uses the man's keys and codes to unlock the missile launch fail-safes.
The Shiloh raiders threaten to launch the facility's missiles unless all
Indian land is returned.

days of negotiations a Delta Team anti-terrorist group invades the silo.
During the struggle, which results in the death of all the occupying SAIM
members, a single Lone Eagle ICBM carrying four MIRVed five-megaton warheads
is launched. The missile, which is targeted for the Russian Republic, ignores
all auto-destruct signals. The military has no interceptors in position
that can shoot the missile down either.

for the launch, U.S. President Garrety informs Russian President Nikolai
Chelenko of the targets of the multiple warheads. Garrety hopes to prevent
a full scale retaliation by giving the Russians enough time to use semi-secret
ballistic defenses to stop the missile.

of the Washington D.C. Mafia marries the Daughter of the late Don Howard
Torricelli of San Diego, California. He initiates a campaign to destroy
all local Mafia competition.

Americans skyrockets. Corporate propaganda makes all Indian scapegoats

the Dallas side of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

Hunter Carstairs calls in Texas Ranger Assault Teams to quell the Dallas
riot. After the smoke clears, six mercenaries are dead, five United Oil
Industries employees are seriously injured, and 167 rioters are killed.

2009: In Berlin, Germany, a second network
to the U-Bahn system is constructed.

2009: Moscow, skeptical of Washington's
claims that the launch was accidental and not an attempt of a surgical
strike on Russian cities, puts their forces on full alert and orders all
citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States into shelters. The U.S.
public is kept unaware of the situation. President Garrety waits anxiously
and as later revealed in the celebrated "back-room tapes," alternately
weeps, rants, and prays.

announces plans to build a multimillion-dollar convention complex at Eagle
Mountain Lake, west of Fort Worth, Texas.

the missile, President Chelenko tersely informs Garrety that the warheads
have been stopped. A privately conducted stress analysis of Chelenko's
voice later indicated only a 79% probability that he speaks the truth,
but neither seismic nor space-based sensors record any nuclear explosions.

declared extinct.

condor dies in captivity.

for use in a proposed lunar colony, is propelled by a frictionless cushion

in the states of Campeche and Yucatan. Unlike the previous Mexican uprising,
these rebels seem well armed and organized.

The response is at first to stop the rioting, but due to corporate influence,
the governments later decide to drive all Aborigines and Maoris from the

VITAS cases are being reported around the planet. Most fatalities occur
in outlying areas of the planet where medical care is scarce and in high-population
centers where supplies of medicines and vaccines are insufficient. China,
India, many African nations, and densely populated Third World cities suffer
disproportionately due to their insufficient medical delivery systems.
By the end of the year approximately 25% of the world's people are dead
or dying. Ironically, the re-education centers are spared the worst of
the plague due to their isolation.

to deal with the crime. Dallas residents live in a state of siege, unsure
which to fear more, the governor or the refugees. Before negotiators can
strike a bargain with the police department, 27 National Guardsmen are
killed. Six shantytowns are razed in the struggle, but more quickly replace
them.

of the SAS are killed along with eleven Protestant paramilitary groups
used as informal death squads by British intelligence and the military.
British Press covers up the assault but the truth is revealed several years

lead to raids on nuclear power plants. Three plants suffer meltdowns and
cause massive radiation damage.

the first of a series of Magical attacks are made on military targets by
the IRA. 75 members of the Parachute Regiment are killed. 44 in Coalisland

from the Mexican dissolution cross the border into Texas. Some head for

Worth. This influx of people overtaxes the already strained welfare and
housing system, leaving most of the refugees in the street. Shantytowns
spring up in vacant lots and under highway bridges. The crime rate in Texas
soars, leading to increased incidents of racial violence.

to the flood by decreeing a restructuring of the federal Lander, uniting
the northern Lander of Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania,
Lower Saxony, Bremen, and the northern part of Saxony-Anhalt to form the
North German Federation. The General also establishes the Special Legislative
Zone (SOX) in the Saar. Corporations respond to this chaos by buying up
many smaller corporations. Telecommunications, information, and computer
related industries tend to gravitate towards southern Germany. Heavy industry
moves towards the North German Federation.

2011: On February 9, hurricane-force
winds push the poisonous waters of the North Sea into the mouth of the
Elbe River in Germany. This soon becomes the worst flood in human history.
The dikes of North Frisia and the dams of the Dutch Ijsselmeer burst. When
the waters finally recede, most of the Netherlands and North Frisia and
all of East Frisia is buried under toxic sludge making them uninhabitable.
The flood costs half a million lives and leaves nearly 45 million people
in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Denmark without homes. In the
city of Hamburg, the waters never recede earning it the nickname, "Venice
of the North." The city soon becomes a black market paradise. The defunct
nuclear plants of Brunsbuttel and Brokdorf are also hit, turning them into
radioactive time bombs.

a powerful earthquake rocks the Olympic Peninsula. The destruction of buildings
in the re-education camps results in mass breakouts. Among the thousands
of escapees is Thunder Tyee, a Salish warrior chief and friend of Daniel

U.S.A., the City Hall burns to the ground.

flooding, and seismic shocks occur along the eastern coastline due to radiation

Trojan-Satsop, a nuclear power plant in the Redmond district, suffers partial
meltdown, contaminating Beaver Lake and the surrounding land for kilometers

are reported in the Eifel and Harz mountains, the Bohemian Forest, the
Giant Mountains, and the Allgau Mountains.

2011: On October 31, in Salem Massachusetts,
U.S.A., at the height of the annual Samhain ritual of the witches of Salem,
a ghostly hunting group complete with a male and female lead hunter, a
full dog pack, and attending hunters appears out of the mist, circles the
witches three times, and then vanishes. Several of the witches collapse
and are taken to the hospital. They are treated for various problems including
migraine headaches, bruises, unexplained cuts and burns, and one stroke.
The stroke victim later dies. The attending doctor has no explanation for
these injuries apart from stress due to what the witches claim to have
seen.

a massive influx of new age enthusiasts looking for magical areas.

strikes the Campbell sheep station, 102 kilometers northwest of Hay, New
South Wales. Only three people out of the 31 inhabitants survive. These

Slighe roads, peat bogs, and cairne lines begin to re-emerge from the land
as well as an occurrence of mana storms similar to those in Australia.

2011: In the U.S.A., at the same moment
as the Ryumyo sighting, Daniel Coleman and his followers escape from the
Abiline re-education center in plain view of all guards and inmates during
a storm. Guards later claim that Coleman is "glowing" and that he and his
followers ignore bullets fired at them. This event, as well as the appearance
of Ryumyo is considered the sign that magic has returned to the world.

of traffic" concept replaces speed limits. This new law states that anyone
disrupting the smooth flow of traffic is to be cited and that actual speeds
are irrelevant.

2012: In China, a minor earthquake strikes
a region near the Great Wall of China. The quake is unusual in that it
is localized and, according to seismic readings, shouldn't have occurred
at all. Moments later, a great dragon, later identified as Lung, appears
before dozens of tourists. Military jets sent to investigate only catch
a glimpse of the dragon before being engulfed by a freak thunderstorm.
Lung then disappears from the plane's radar scopes.

2012: In the U.S.A., New Rolling Stone
journalist McBean disappears while covering the Daniel Coleman story.

2012: In Germany, the great dragon Kaltenstein
disappears, apparently killed by the great dragons Lofwyr and Nebelherr.

Colonel Edward Hildebrandt a commanding officer of the Native American
re-education camps, is found torn apart as if by wild animals. The Army
suspects SAIM to be involved but never find any evidence. The case is listed
as "unsolved."

weeks after his appearance, the great dragon Rhonabwy orders everyone within
a five-mile radius of his new lair site to leave for good within 72 hours.
Most people are pacified by his payment of double the land value to the
whole town. He then destroys all the buildings and digs a new lair within
two weeks.

offer funds to shore up the city's failing welfare system. Corporate lawyers
draw up terms, which include corporate approval of welfare distribution.
Governor Carstairs has no choice but to agree. The rules tend to favor
Fort Worth and Tarrant County. The poorhouse system of relief is reinstated
and work farms are established to contain the growing masses of homeless
and to supply labor to the new construction projects in the area.

2012: In the U.S.A., Chief Harold Jim,
the influential and well loved leader of the Nootka tribe of Native Americans,
is killed when a truck's brakes fail and he is hit.

2012: In Germany, devil rats suddenly
begin to spread and flourish.

is re-elected President of the United States.

2012: On January 1, in England, U.K.,
King Charles III announces his intention to join an unspecified esoteric
order. He then abdicates in favor of his third son George VIII, his first
two sons having been killed in a plane crash. Charles III then withdraws
from society completely.

2012: On February 12, in Caerfyrddin,
Wales, U.K., the great western dragon Rhonabwy breaks out of his lair leaving
a huge crater. He then goes on a rampage destroying hundreds of buildings
and causing the deaths of over 150 people. He subsequently apologizes for
the destruction blaming it on "post hibernation trauma."

2012: In Colorado, U.S.A., as the military
tries to seal off Cherry Creek Lake, reporters from all over fight for
an interview with Dunklezahn. The winner is Holly Brighton, an early-evening
weekend anchorwoman. The resulting 12 hour and 16 minute interview gives
humanity its first real clues into the breadth and depth of the Awakening.
Dunklezahn earns $13 million dollars tax-free for participating. Holly
Brighton maintains an informal business relationship with Dunklezahn.

in order to bypass the problem of recording his words (due to the fact
that dragons communicate through a "thought-voice"), hires John Timmons,
a young black divinity student from Denver, to be his interpreter. As a
result, Timmons becomes a major voice in Post-Awakened North American Protestantism,
where he preaches tolerance and clear-mindedness against a tide of religious
reactionism.

Lester, founder of the Church of the Whole Earth Inc., suffering from a
crisis of faith, sees Dunkelzahn make his first appearance and declares
him to be a sign from the Goddess. She begins to turn her tiny church into

Vernon Prudhomme, a native, hires a group of motorcycle daredevils and
stages a game involving motorcycles, stunt riding, padded clubs, and "paintball"
guns as a publicity gimmick for his speedway business. The game is broadcast
over radio and T.V. and becomes quite popular. Prudhomme jokes about starting
a "Combat Cyclists League."

in Aldershot leads the government to consider a referendum to determine
the fate of Ireland.

Imperial Chemical Industries corporation is revealed to have been improperly

English and a trade. Graduates from the program are guaranteed jobs with
the corporations as long as they obey the law. The crime rate drops significantly

from the continent. They threaten dire magical retribution if their demand
is not met.

refuses. The corporations respond by firing a salvo of Thor non-explosive
missiles around the Pacific Fleet flagship USS Enterprise. The fleet returns

Robert Greene, a shaman in SAIM, and Ursula Mahr, a hermetic working for

fighting over the narcosoft trade between the yakuza-controlled Green Dragons

fighting is eventually suppressed by the National Guardsmen. As a result,
the worst slum areas of L.A. are walled off from the rest of the city.
They are renamed "El Infierno" by the residents.

activate and move to protect interests in the Indonesian and PNG areas,
closely followed and supported by corporate security forces.

2022: During the lull in fighting between
Indonesia and PNG, Australasia tries to help with peace negotiations, but
their ambassador is killed by Indonesian troops for reasons yet to be fully
explained.

U.S.A., Governor Lindstrom orders all Seattle metahumans released from

tribesmen (mostly trolls and orks) supplied by the Indonesians attack and

results in detonation of the collar. When the inmate's sentence is over,
the explosive dissolves, destroys the transceiver, and the collar falls
off. Each inmate is left to his own devices as to how to survive the length
of his sentence.

MacAlister's speech, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North
Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and the southern portion of
Virginia secede from the UCAS to form the Confederated American States
(CAS). The CAS is instantly recognized by Aztlan. Sentiments run high,
and fears of a second civil war are rampant. Nevertheless, the transition
is relatively orderly. President MacAlister signs the Treaty of Richmond
with the rebel states establishing peaceful boundaries and a working political
and economic relationship between the two countries. The Northern part
of Virginia remains as a state in the UCAS. The CAS is also written into
the governing council of the city of FRFZ. Military units, divided in loyalties,
split up and move to their preferred countries with few incidents of violence.
The former governor of Alabama is voted pro tem president of the CAS until
regular elections can be held.

American Eagle Life Insurance which pays out huge sums both for the jets
and the relatives of slain passengers. No connection is made with Cord
Mutual. A sweep of assassinations of vidstars and entertainment personalities
across the continent, especially in Atlanta, follows.

months after their failed invasion of Aztlan, Texas applies for re-admittance
to the CAS.

series of vandalous attacks on Cord Mutual-Insured corporations and individuals.
Cord Mutual responds with attacks against the Medusa Sisterhood as well
as North American Eagle. What began as a clandestine corporate power struggle
becomes a bloody war, claiming the lives of hundreds of insured.

media breaks the story on the Insurance War, acting on rumors of the two
corporations' involvement in the rash of violence in the sprawl. The CAS
government and the City of Atlanta government comes down hard on both corporations,
ending the war.

Mutual is able to provide evidence of North American Eagle's funding of
the Medusa Sisterhood, while no official connection is made between Cord
Mutual and the independent operatives they used as soldiers in the Insurance
War. North American Eagle is assessed fines and several top officials are
arrested. Cord Mutual wins the CAS insurance contract despite a storm of
controversy.

2035: In Atlanta, Georgia, CAS, Cord
Mutual goes through a power struggle and several changes in upper management.
There is also a supposedly unrelated accident in the company's skyraker,
which leads to the closing of the building's top 25 floors. Cord Mutual
officials say only that it is declared structurally unsound.

2035: In an unprecedented interruption
of worldwide broadcasting by mimicking the Civil Emergency Network priority
code, the Ceneste or "forsaken" tribe of elves of the Northwest territories
of the NAN (formerly Oregon) declare their independence and announce the
birth of Tir Tairngire (the land of promise). Lugh Surehand, now mayor
of Portland, declares himself to be the High Prince of Tir Tairngire. Aithine
Oakforest, Sean Laverty, and the relatively unknown Jenna Ni'Fairra become
the first members of the Tir Tairngire Council of Princes. Ehran the Scribe
also becomes a member, but secretly.

troops into the Tir Tairngire area, confident that the elves are poorly
armed and constitute no real threat. The elves strike back using heavy
military weaponry, driving the Salish-Shidhe troops back. The Salish-Shidhe
attack six more times from different directions and are driven back each
time with heavy losses.

of southern Texas. Despite the efforts of the Lone Star Militia and the
Texas Rangers, Austin and San Antonio are lost before the invaders can
be stopped. The Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex becomes the new Texas capital.

after entering the Awakened Forest, 75 of the 500 elves return as broken

Guard completely by surprise. Within the first six hours of the assault
the California units are pushed south of Yreka. By adding paranimals, combat
mages, and allegedly at least two dragons to their regular army, the Tir
Tairngire forces roll south of Redding, where the CNG digs in to make a
final stand. The battle lasts for two days and although the CNG fights
valiantly, the defending soldiers of Redding are completely destroyed by
the Tir Tairngire forces with no survivors. The survivors of the CNG army
retreat from Redding. The Tir Tairngire army demands that all non-elves
leave the area taken from California within 30 days.

of the Lone Star Security board of directors, Wendy Manderscheid, a major
stockholder and enemy of Clayton Wilson, moves to terminate Clayton Wilson
as CEO of Lone Star Security. Wilson laughs in her face and immediately

The protests bring out many other radical organizations and the violence
eventually spreads throughout the rest of the city.

took place within Ares facilities, and so fell under corporate jurisdiction.

Thousands are crushed to death. Gas lines rupture and the whole area goes
up in flames. A second Chicago Fire is narrowly averted by mages who contain
the blaze in less than an hour. The final death toll is nearly 26,000.
The Sears Tower and surrounding areas are never rebuilt and the area becomes
known as the Shattergraves.

to "police" the facility and take percentages from their illegal activities.

people. The act is followed by a declaration of de facto war by the NSL
against smokers everywhere.

of followers declare independence from the Seattle Mafia. Dacavitt is summarily
executed but his followers manage to begin a serious challenge for control

sponsors the Universal Matrix Specifications Conference. More than 7000
humans and metahumans meet for three months to determine the details of
matrix programming.

shocking report verifies that conditions amount to slavery in most states.
The Native American Nations impose heavy trade sanctions on CAS to speed
up metahuman equality laws.

a freak blizzard brings the city to a standstill.

2039: The Night of Rage. On February
7, In Seattle Metroplex, UCAS, the Seattle Metroplex Guard, under order
of Governor Allenson, systematically rounds up all metahumans and transports
them under armed guard to a series of warehouses on the Seattle waterfront.
They are told that they are being deported to camps near San Francisco,
CFS. In one of the warehouses a series of screams prompts gunfire from
the guards. Panic and hysteria takes over. One of the warehouses catches
fire due to explosions. Soon all warehouses are burning. Some witnesses
claim to see Hand of Five terrorists in the area. The Metroplex Guard does
nothing to stop the blaze. As news of the incident reaches the public,
citizens protest the barbaric treatment of the metahumans. The United Corporate
Council threatens Governor Allenson with lock-outs and boycotts to force
him to act against the terrorism. By the time Governor Allenson acts, the
fire has already ended and many of the metahumans are dead. This incident
sparks violence around the city. Similar events occur worldwide. Thousands
are killed. These are mostly metahumans, their supporters, and those cosmetically
altered to look like metahumans. In New York alone, 836 deaths occur.

2039: In Chicago, Illinois, UCAS, Alamos
20,000 makes the destruction of the Sears Tower look like the work of metahumans
in retaliation for the Night of Rage. The corporations of Chicago respond
by sealing the metahumans and poor out of their neighborhoods. The city
government and the corporations build projects on Chicago's North Side
district to house the metahumans and keep them separated from the rest
of the city.

the greatest number of attacks on metahumans. The Australians respond by
attacking the Asians with the same anger that metahumans experience worldwide.

the Night of Rage are almost exclusively racist humans killed by humans

breaks out into a full-fledged revolt. This civil war brings down the corrupt
city government. Das Rote Rathaus, the red bricked city hall is burned
to the ground. The rebels withdraw to Schoneberg city hall and deliberate
for 23 days. Berlin is declared by the rebels to be the Free State of Berlin,
an anarchist state.

of 2039 is passed giving control of certain lands over to the Roma.

2039: In New Orleans, Louisiana, CAS,
a majority of the city's African-American population demand that a portion
of the city be set aside for them to set up their own community. Despite
protests from both corporate and civic leaders, the city gives in to the
group's demands. The area set aside for the black group becomes known as
the Zulu Nation.

and leading authority on the Awakening and its effects on modern culture,
receives the Campbell Fellowship to the Mythological Institute for his
book Monkeytribe: Survival Manual for Erect Bipeds.

on St. Patrick's Day, the Irish terrorist organization known as the Knights
of the Red Branch "strike a blow for Eire." A bomb is planted in a popular

degenerates into a massive race riot. By the time authorities impose martial
law and reestablish order, hundreds are dead and hundreds more are injured.

London to Atlanta, is destroyed over the Atlantic with no survivors. Though
garbled, the flight recorder indicates the plane is attacked by a dragon
(later identified tentatively as Sirrug, a well known Western Great Dragon).
The recorder also states that one passenger holds the dragon off with magic
for several minutes before the plane is destroyed. Many believe the plane
is destroyed in retaliation for the Night of Rage.

the Der Nachtmachen policlub bombs the Fermnmeldenturm in Bockenheim. Half
of the neighborhood is destroyed. The policlub holds the city hostage for
months.

erupt between corporate forces around the world.

management skills, DocWagon turns the hospital around, and the first of

the corporation's largest profit centers.

Bridge is built over the shipping canal.

Lanrie Corporation infects a Miami-based competitor's computer system with
a tailored computer virus. The other major corporations discover this action
and, under the terms of the Concord of Zurich-Orbital and with the sanction
of the Corporate Court, destroy the Lanrie corporation. Lanrie's infrastructure
is shattered, its facilities and assets are destroyed, and its board of
directors are executed. This is the last known incident of viral warfare.

Lore Store, a magic shop with a strange reputation, opens.

L.A. district is converted from a primarily Hispanic neighborhood to a

their loyalty to the Oyabun or face the consequences. The Koreans ignore
this threat.

Seattle Metroplex the right to send its own ambassadors to any country
vital to its well being.

2042: The Yamatetsu corporation is finally
recognized as a member of the Corporate Court and the Zurich-Orbital Gemeinschaft
bank. Skirmishes between the disputing factions die off.

2042: In Germany, a monastery is found
completely gutted by fire. All of the monks inside are killed.

2042: In Seattle Metroplex, UCAS, the
Fuchi Electronics Industrial Compound is rebuilt after being destroyed
during the Night of Rage.

2042: In Germany, a series of volcanic
eruptions devastate the Eifel Mountain region. Lava blocks the Rhine River,
causing the Neuwied Depression to flood. Koblenz and other towns are abandoned
as the Rhine overflow forms a new lake stretching from Remagen to Lahnstein.
The land south of Rsselsheim is turned into swampland that is named the
Oppenheimer Marsh At the same time a series of earthquakes hits the Upper
Rhine Graben. Although nobody claims responsibility, popular opinion places
the responsibility on the shoulders of metahumans. As a result the government
abandons their proposed eugenics laws and grants full rights to metahumans.
Fearing for their lives however, South German dwarfs begin to emigrate
to the Eifel and Hunsruck hill regions. Orks and trolls follow suit by
resettling in the Black Forest, the Upper Palatinate Forest and the Bohemian
Forest.

Underplex Corporation is established to oversee the final stages of development
for the West End Underplex mall in London.

2042: Dunkelzahn the Dragon hires former
Knight-Errant security specialist Carla Brooks as a full-time employee.

2042: DocWagon begins to expand beyond
the Atlanta, Georgia area. In an unprecedented marketing campaign, DocWagon
begins franchising its operation throughout the UCAS, excepting Seattle.
By the end of the year, DocWagon has sold at least three franchises in
each major UCAS city-again excluding Seattle-and have many more scattered
through the country's smaller communities.

2042: In Big Sur Coast, CFS, small groups
of settlers reinhabit the toxic zones and use magic to make them livable
again. Almost immediately the corporate owners claim ownership and try
to force the settlers off the land. The settlers fight back with surprising
force and chase off the first corporate army. This fighting escalates into
continuous small-scale war.

2042: In MSP, Minnesota, UCAS, several
streets in the downtown areas collapse. Rather then rebuild the streets
on badly saturated foundations, the sunken areas are smoothed out and turned
into the MSP Canals, allowing boat travel in the city itself. The area
becomes known as "Little Venice."

2042: The Zeta-Impchem corporation is
exposed in the Polydopa scandal of dumping neurotoxins for the past four
years in central Africa. This results in 4,000 premature deaths and 35,000
cases of irreversible brain damage.

2042: In Los Angeles, CFS, rivalries
between southern California college magical departments escalate into the
Magic Wars. Although dangerous, none of the magical pranks have yet proven
fatal. The constant barrage on astral space however, has caused odd side
effects for those using magic in the area. Magic now has a dangerous unpredictability
in Los Angeles.

commissioners charter a joint committee to make a decision as to whether
physical adepts should be allowed to compete in professional sports.

Lambert Containment Zone is misfired.

UCAS military unit calling itself the Minutemen take over the abandoned
China Lake Naval Weapons Center as a base after being chased off of Fort
Irwin by corporate interests.

metahumans are placed into containment camps. The South German parliament
considers a program of Eugenics to keep any more from being born.

2042: Ares Macrotechnology's space exploration
division AresSpace, implements Project Cydonia. This project launches a
probe which flies to Mars and performs detailed scans of the planet. Upon
it's return the results of the project are kept secret from the general
public.

2042: In the Mediterranean, the villa
of a collector of rare animals is destroyed by a rocket and missile attack
on his island. The explosion releases his collection of greater armadillos,
allowing them to breed and establish for the first time in Europe.

2042: In San Francisco, CFS, less than
15% of the population are metahumans.

2042: In UCAS, Congress passes the Military
Improvements Act, giving many failing military bases a second chance.

2042: The Commonwealth Aerospace corporation
begins testing a series of refinements on its RPVs by using them in active
war zones across the world.

the Sasquatch species as a sentient race.

2042: In Seattle Metroplex, UCAS, an
Aztechnology long-haul dirigible crashes into Puget Sound when it is fired
upon by Metroplex Guard fighters for not following travel orders. Tensions
build up between Aztechnology and the Seattle government over this incident.

the most influential academician in the field of magical studies, takes
over as Chairman of the Department of Occult Studies at UCLA.

members survive.

consciousness equations of Dr. Caitlin O'Connal, opens its first chapters:
Two in San Francisco, one in Ukiah, and one in Gilroy.

exhibition between the Yomiuri Giants, Japan's most revered team, and the
L.A. Dodgers, the Yomiuri corporation newsnets create a major uproar at
the fact that they are playing a team with Harry "Ironjaw" Bartlett due
to the fact that he is kawaruhito (changed person, goblinized). The L.A.
Dodgers win the game.

2043: In Tir na nOg, Lady Brane Deigh
proclaims herself Rian, or "Queen" of the Seelie Court, a non-legislative
body independent of the Court of Stewards.

2043: In Seattle Metroplex, UCAS, the
Yakuza sends Japanese assassins to purge all Koreans from their organization.
Most are killed but some escape. One of these, Pak Jai Kyu, begins to form
the Seoulpa Rings with the help of his remaining followers. The concept
catches on around the Metroplex and throughout the rest of North America.

Troll Kingdom of the Black Forest proclaims itself a separate state from
the Federal German Republic. It places its capital at Freiburg.

2043: In the Upper Rhine, Germany, a
series of powerful earthquakes occur. In the city of Karlsruhe, 10,000
people are killed and the city suffers billions of Deutschemarks in damages.

2043: In Bonn, Germany, the EBMM scandal
occurs. It is the only reported verified event of magical cheating in Urban
Brawl.

regional Parliament begin to make major advances.

the world will be eaten by dragons, begin support of the dragon Celedyr

a failed attempt at a hostile stock take-over of Tong & Anvil Mining,
4-M launches a prolonged corp war against the dwarven corporation.

2043: In London, England, U.K., Protestant
terrorists launch attacks using incendiary bombs. 31 people are killed
and 102 people are maimed.

2043: In Tir Tairngire, the Council
and the High Prince respond to the population's growing demands for equal
representation in the government by creating the Star Chamber. This organization
divides the country into 128 districts and each district elects a representative
to serve in the Star Chamber. The Chamber has advisory powers over the
Council and the High Prince, but cannot force them to do anything.

2043: In Germany, soon after the Black
Forest secession, the dwarfs announce the formation of the Grand-Duchy
of Westrhine-Luxemborg. The German government initially tries to retake
both seceded lands but eventually gives up.

2044: In Tir na nOg, the Ulster museum
is half destroyed in a terrorist attack by the URF.

2044: In Panama, the government becomes
economically incapable of maintaining the Panama Canal.

2044: On February 23, in New Orleans,
Louisiana, CAS, three humans and an elf attack and nearly destroy a Downtown
Metro Security precinct. Two humans and the elf are killed, but the remaining
human is captured and revealed to be a vampire. Before her execution the
vampire reveals that a small group of her kind, led by an ancient vampire/mage
named Bartholomew, is plotting to conquer New Orleans. "This is our age,
not the age of man," she is quoted as saying. "We will rain hell on this
city until the blood runs in the streets and we turn it into our hunting
ground."

2044: In England, U.K., a group of radical
feminist trolls manage to gain an elected majority on the Croydon council.
Although they are only in office for a year, they manage to create all
sorts of chaos on the other branches of Croydon government.

2044: In New Orleans, Louisiana, CAS,
within days of the precinct attack, ghouls, hellhounds, and elementals,
all lead by one or more of the vampires, direct more deadly attacks on
New Orleans corporate and city property.

2044: In New Orleans, Louisiana, CAS,
in response to the vampire attacks and the inability of Metro Security
to do any thing about them, the city government of New Orleans organizes
a specially trained and equipped group of Metro Security Officers to battle
the vampires and their troops. Combined with mages to fight the elementals
and other awakened creatures, the elite force is named the "Night Stalkers."
They are sent out in two to four-man patrols to deal with the vampire threat.

2044: In New Orleans, Louisiana, CAS,
within six months of their founding, the Night Stalkers have scored twenty
vampire kills. Every suspected member of the New Orleans vampire group
except Bartholemew is dead. The closest they come to capturing Bartholemew
is finding a massive library of grimoires and tomes belonging to him. Magical
experts who examine the books call them black magic, dealing with beings
of alien dimensions and how to summon them. The books are put under lock,
key, and spell at Tulane University.

2044: In Aztlan, the president dies.
She is replaced by Francisco Gortari.

2044: In Germany, Chancelor Hunggarten
attempts to break the monopoly of foreign corporations. As a result, on
May 10, all south German datagrids turn off for 72 hours, causing massive
economic problems and causing the Association of German Unions (AGV) to
call for a strike. Twenty-four hours later, a flight of dragons flies in
formation over Munich and Stuttgart, which many residents see as a bad
omen. On the sixth day of the crisis, foreign governments worldwide freeze
all assets of the South German Federation held in their banks. The following
day MET2000 ends its contract with the South German government, depriving
it of an army. On the eighth day of the crisis, Chancelor Hunggarten is
forced to resign.
