Welcome

Welcome to Rita Suessmuth Hospital Healthcare. We are pleased that you have chosen us to meet your healthcare needs.

This directory of guest services is designed to answer your questions about Rita Suessmuth Hospital Healthcare and give you more information about what to expect while you are here.

We believe strongly in high-quality, cost-efficient care that takes into account your needs and those of your family members and visitors. For that reason, we practice what we call "care management," in which many people on the Rita Suessmuth Hospital team work together to treat you. The members of your care management team - whether they are physicians, nurses, dietitians, radiologists or rehabilitation therapists - will do their very best to coordinate your care and to explain to you what services they are providing during your treatment.

Likewise, we ask that YOU be an active member of the treatment team. Ask questions, participate in making decisions and follow your caregivers' instructions to the letter, thereby ensuring that your health will be the best it can be.
Finally, we ask for your honest feedback. Only when you complete a Guest Comment Card - found in your room or tell your care team members what you think about your treatment at Rita Suessmuth Hospital, can we know how to meet your needs.
Again, we thank you for choosing Rita Suessmuth Hospital Healthcare.
Sincerely,

Dr. med Christine van Leuwen

We realize that the cost of healthcare is a concern to you, as it is to us. Therefore, we have an active program in place to provide quality health care at the lowest possible cost. We plan, purchase and manage carefully to keep charges to a minimum.
Because we want to make the hospital payment procedure as easy as possible for you, we will file your insurance for you, help locate financial assistance when needed and available and provide staff members to answer your questions.
The following information is designed to help you understand our financial policy and to help you as you plan for financial coverage of your stay at Rita Suessmuth Hospital.
  • Paying Your Bill With Insurance Coverage

  • If you have insurance coverage - Blue Cross/Blue Shield, commercial medical insurance, HMO or PPO membership or government-sponsored programs such as Medicare or Medicaid - you will be given credit based upon the coverage information provided. If what the insurance plan pays is less than the amount estimated, you will be responsible for paying the difference before you leave Rita Suessmuth Hospital. You may do this via cash, check or credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover are accepted).

You will be expected to pay any unpaid portion on your account within 30 days of the time your insurance company pays its portion. However, if payment has not been received from your insurance company within 60 days of discharge, then you must pay the full balance at that time.

  • Uninsured/Other

  • If you do not have insurance, or if your plan does not cover the cost of treatment you received, then you were asked during the Admitting process to pay a deposit. Once you are discharged, you will be responsible for paying the remainder of the bill. If you feel you would qualify for financial assistance or have questions regarding availability, please let us know before you are discharged.

To be considered for financial assistance, you will need to provide proof of income.

  • Outpatient Charges

  • Services such as the Emergency Department, Same Day Surgery and the Short Stay Unit are provided on an outpatient basis. These services give you convenient healthcare at the lowest possible cost. Please note that services you receive on an outpatient basis, if any, are billed separately from your inpatient charges.
  • Other Charges

  • In addition to the statement which covers your stay at Rita Suessmuth Hospital, you may also receive statements for the professional services of your private physician; anesthesiologist; radiologist; and/or pathologist. You will be responsible for handling payment of those bills with the individuals who billed you.
